When the angel of death visited Egypt the Lord instructed the children of Israel to kill an unblemished lamb and put its blood on the door post of their homes so that the angel of death would pass over the dwelling. The Lord further commanded the children of Israel to observe and celebrate this act of salvation for all generations.
The night before Jesus was crucified he was celebrating the Passover with his disciples. Jewish families have been doing the same for 2,400 years. There is a certain order prescribed for the celebration. The Hebrew word for Order is “Seder”.
Christ Pres will be celebrating the Seder supper as Jesus and his disciples did on Maundy Thursday, April 14 at 6pm. Children of all ages are encouraged to join their families. The Seder will last approximately 45 minutes. The Seder is ceremonial only and not an actual meal. Traditionally families enjoy their meal following the Seder in their homes.
Participation in the Seder is a form of worship. Please prepare your hearts for this and join our church family Thursday evening.
